The hotel was ideal for our quick visit to the Christmas market in trier. Nice and quiet despite being on a main road. Staff were great and while breakfast was busy, nothing was too much for the staff to help us with.

Stay was great. Many options for breakfast, room was very clean. Appreciate the late checkout time. Only recommendation I have is to arrive as early as possible as parking is limited.

First to the positive, the rooms were clean and from the hotel the city center is very well within walking distance. The hotel is located on a busy street, but you do not hear it in the room. Unfortunately, my hospitality experience was disappointing. The staff was not very friendly and you miss a person who also smiles sometimes. I wanted to check in at 2pm, normal check in time is 3pm. My room was already ready, yet I was not allowed to enter it, but had to wait an hour or register for a membership, which would have allowed me to enter the room earlier. Alternatively, I could have paid a surcharge to enter the room an hour earlier. As hotel management, accommodating guests in this way is unfortunately the opposite of what I expect. I will choose another accommodation provider in the future.

Holiday Inn Express Trier feels very modern and fresh. Check in was efficient, The bedroom was well proportioned and the bed very comfortable. Good blackout curtains. Breakfast was typical range of food expected for a German buffet but good quality. Good car parking but the only downside was difficulty in finding public transport

The hotel is generally very good but is not built for its capacity, twice as many rooms as parking spaces which is compounded that guests have 24 hours parking so that the overlap will be compounding the issue. The dining area doesn’t have enough seating capacity at breakfast.
